Owner, Head Trainer Hi, I'm Andrea Grant. I am a BCRPA certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Nutritional Consultant. I hold a diploma in Applied Nutrition as well as a certificate in Sports and Fitness Nutrition from the Vancouver-based alive Academy. I am a mommy of two and a health enthusiast with a realistic and balanced approach to achieving a healthy, happy lifestyle. Consistency and commitment are the fundamentals of my programs, yet I also believe there are occasions in life where you can have your cake and eat it too. My clients have achieved their goals through one-on-one training, small group training classes, as well as through online training programs during the 10 years that I have been involved in this industry. I am passionate about assisting my clients in achieving long term success while approaching the process in a manner that is balanced and healthy. Through continual mindset work and detailed programs, I strive to help my clients fully embrace a life of health and happiness.
From fad diets to extreme diets to yo-yo diets, I have seen, heard and even experienced it all. There are times when even a "quick fix" may sound appealing if it means losing 10 pounds in one week. I created Parallel Health Consulting because I want to bring about a change; a lifestyle change that is permanent rather than temporary. Parallel Health embodies the concept that fitness and nutrition go hand in hand. They are both detrimental not just to weight loss, but to leading a healthy lifestyle. I myself have been through weight loss ups and downs, but only after I entered a fitness competition and suffered from metabolic issues did I truly understand the impact extreme diets can have on one's health and well-being. It is through this experience and knowledge that I am able to fully grasp the ups and downs of weight loss and how I can help my clients reach their full potential through proper diet and exercise.
As a trainer and nutritional consultant, it is my mission to not only provide workout and meal programs geared towards individual goals, but also to work with my clients on a deeper level to break down the mental barriers that may be roadblocking success. With ten years of experience under my belt, I know how difficult the process of weight loss can be. My goal is to help each and every client reach their health and fitness goals by finding a program that works for them, as an individual. Helping my clients understand that this is a lifestyle, not a fad diet, is just the tip of the iceberg. I work closely with my clients to ensure that change is occurring not just physically, but also mentally, as this is such a huge piece of the puzzle. I strive to help people achieve balance through moderation, meal plans that include many so called "forbidden foods" and allow room for foods you can actually enjoy, while creating workouts catered to your fitness level and goals. I don't believe in severe restriction, eliminating food groups (with the exception of allergies), or feeling miserable and hungry all the time. Your diet should fit you, not the other way around. I offer programs geared towards a lifestyle that can be maintained on a daily basis, for the long run. PHC Trainer My name is Christina Novak, I am a certified personal trainer with a passion to motivate those around me. My love for strength training and fitness began 10 years ago after training for a triathlon. After crossing the finsh line I realized what my body was capable of and I was hooked! With the proper trainging program and instruction anyone can achieve anything and this is a philosophy I want to instill in my clients. I encourage clients to set long term goals and teach them how to accomplish those goals by setting smaller short term goals. I am so happy to be a part of Parallel Health Consulting and teach people how to live their best life. The small class sizes allow me to become close with my clients and help them obtain their goals.
